- For hydrophilic organic sludge, it is often recommended to use inorganic conditioning to achieve satisfactory cake release, as it adheres minimally to filter cloth.
- In the case of hydrophilic inorganic sludge, the addition of lime is typically sufficient for the filter press.
- Hydrophobic inorganic sludge, being very dense, is ideal for the filter press and can be dewatered without any preliminary conditioning.
- When dealing with oily sludge, the filter press can be utilized, but it is important to note that the presence of grease can sometimes impede the filter’s smooth operation. Consequently, the filter cloth must be degreased at frequent intervals.
